Orion Engine Screen Shots
HI-RES SCREEN SHOTS: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

RESPONSIBILITIES
Created animated logo based on product specifications. I was responsible for creating a visual way to explain the technical side of software that was in development. The animation length is 3 minutes and 30 seconds, or 6300 frames, and was developed using a script and timed voiceover. This animation included 3D animation, altered JumpBacks, motion graphics, and various compositing effects. I basically built everything in this project.

NOTES
This video project was a corporate tool that the management team gives to their new sales people in order to explain the inner workings of the software systems they will be marketing. Software used to develop this animate was. The project was produced using FTP-transmitted movie files for approvals and CD's for the final frames.

PROJECT: Kung-Pow, Enter The Fist - http://www.kungpowmovie.com
PRODUCTION COMPANY:
20th Century Fox
FX HOUSE:
O Digital - O Entertainment

HI-RES SCREEN SHOTS: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

RESPONSIBILITIES
Helped the visual effects production team with finishing some of the final fx shots of the film. I textured and lit a few of the space ship models for specific shots. Generated approximate camera angels for 3D renderings. Composited those 3D renderings with blue-screen live action footage at film resolution. Created some 2D effects for hero-villian combat sequence.

Shot 1: Matched 3D camera angle with approximate angle of source sky footage. Composited the two elements together.
Shot 2: The most time consuming. Adjusted quality of sky/blue screen to enable better blue removal. Matched 3D ship angle with gound camera. Composited sky, ship, and actor together. Note the use of a matching lens flare around the actors head to marry the images together.
Shot 3: Though I didn't set up the original composite on this, my main resonsibility was to adjust the hull texture quality and color. Then I generated the final composite of this shot.
Shot 4: The almost-final shot of the movie, I composited the three layers of the background hill, the foreground hill, and the actor. Slight use of blurring helps provide an added hint of distance.
Shot 5: Generated "hit effect" using only After Effects techniques. Though this shot is very short, it needed to match the slow-motion effect of the original film.

CLIENT: The Rock
PRODUCTION COMPANY: Wiebe Productions
QUICKTIME: Streaming (177KB)
     Length: 5 seconds

The Rock Screenshots
HI-RES SCREEN SHOTS: 1 - 2 - 3

RESPONSIBILITIES
Created this animated piece of granite block destroying the "What's Your Excuse" sign and supporting slats. Initial frames of animation match live video footage of the sign on a side of a housel. This animation was cut into the video at the exact spot where no noticeable change is detected. Everything was hand-animated without any special plug-ins to provide physics interactions. The final product included overlayed text with tag line.

NOTES
This animation was part of a commercial being aired in the local theaters around Salt Lake City, UT. With a very low budget for animation, I tried to give them something special and "cool". As always, my vision for this far exceeded the budget so I wasn't able to do everything I had wanted. It turned out well and added a great deal of value to the impact of the commercial.

NOTES
